FAQ’s

Is collective bargaining legal?

Yes. Immunity from anticompetitive behaviour can be obtained by lodging a collective bargaining notification form. For details of how this works can be found on the ACCC website http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/776297. Manulink would do this on behalf of the interested parties by item.

Do I have to sign up to the final contract?

No. You can pull out of the negotiations at any time. However, it would be important to notify Manulink as soon as you know that you cannot or do not wish to participate in the process any longer.

What is the contracted term?

This will depend on the item, but ideally this would be anywhere from 12 months to 3 years where.

Will I have to change to to new employees or will I get to keep the same employees?

There will be no change to your employees unless you want to change them.

Will I get the same service that I got from my previous labour hire company?

Any important services will be included as part of the tender. If anything, you should end up with better services.

Will I get sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa liquor, milk powders or whichever ingredient to my requirements?

Yes, the idea is that you are buying collectively a similar ingredient through suppliers that are able to cater to different specifications.

Do you need to have exactly the same ingredient for collective buying to work?

Although this is helpful, it is more important to have large combined volumes.

What if I am happy with my current supplier?

We would always encourage current suppliers to tender.
